                                 EVA CHANT CV
Since childhood Eva has consistently enjoyed artistic pursuits.  Her background includes many years of ongoing art related study, including the National Art School at East Sydney, Alexander Mackie Teacher’s College, Hornsby TAFE, and assorted workshops, some involving sculpture.  She became an inaugural member of the Portrait Artists Australia and has participated in group exhibitions at the Arthouse in Sydney.

Eva conducted many years of life drawing classes, (sketch club), working with the Hornsby Art Society, the Northern Districts Evening College at Castle Hill, and Wahroonga.  The involvement with students and models has been very rewarding.

Over 4 decades Eva has involved herself with regular art groups on a weekly basis, particularly with life drawing.  She attended weekly sessions at a studio in St Ives run by Neville MacIntosh.  As well there are life drawing/painting sessions at Pennant Hills.  Eva also attends weekly sessions at the sculpture studio at Ingleside, called ‘The Shed’, run by Christine Simpson.  Here Eva paints from life in oils instead of sculpting. Lately she has been seriously exploring portrait painting and attends weekly sessions at the studio of Susan Cesarini.

In 1973 Eva joined the Hornsby Art Society and has been involved in most positions on the committee, including President.  She was honoured with a Life Membership and continues to participate in Society activities wherever possible.

Currently Eva is Secretary and Web Coordinator to the Sculptors Society and finds the involvement with sculptor/artists very gratifying and stimulating.

Most of Eva’s artwork is done for personal pleasure, not sales, although some paintings, drawings and sculptures have made their way into personal collections.
